As communities worldwide have begun to focus more systematically on how to harness diversity as an asset rather than a liability, there has been increased interest from many quarters in tapping the creativity, energy and resources of diaspora to build peace and promote development.
On October 19-20, the United Nations mandated University for Peace convened an Expert Forum on “Capacity Building for Peace and Development: Roles of Diaspora” in Toronto, Canada. Building on the success of the Forum, this website will provide an international platform for further discussions between policy makers, academics, community leaders and grassroots initiatives.
